VSF prices rise slightly in Chinese market

Prices of Cotton Linter were assessed at RMB 2900/ton during the last week ending July 6, 2013, which were slightly down from the previous week. In the last updates from market, offer prices were in the range of RMB 3000/ton to RMB 3100/ton. Trading prices were in the range of RMB 2700/ton to RMB 2900/ton. Average prices for last week were RMB 2760/ton.
 
Prices of Dissolving Pulp were offered at RMB 6730/ton in the last week, which were up by RMB 80/ton from the previous week. Prices of imported Dissolving Wood Pulp were assessed at US$ 880/ton. Prices of Pulp imported from the U.S. were in the range of US$ 800/ton to US$ 900/ton, while those from Canada were in the range of US$ 860/ton to US$ 875/ton. Prices of Pulp imported from Sweden and Russia were between US$ 850/ton to US$ 880/ton.
 
VSF prices surged slightly to RMB 13320/ton in the last week, which were up by RMB 20/ton from the previous week. VSF market opened at RMB 13300/ton, remained stable during the week, and prices were assessed in the range of RMB 13300/ton to RMB 13500/ton. In the Chinese market, offers for imported VSF hovered in the range of US$ 1.89/kg to US$ 1.92/kg. Market experts expect VSF prices to remain stable-to-soft in the near term.
 
In the last week, VFY market weakened and prices were at RMB 36090/ton due to subdued demand from the downstream market. VFY producers kept offers in the range of RMB 35900/ton to RMB 36200/ton. VFY market participants were less confident amid slack season approaching during the last week. In the Chinese market, offers for imported VFY hovered in the range of US$ 5750/ton to US$ 5860/ton.
