Samsung Petrochemical to restart Daesan PTA plant

Samsung Petrochemical Co. Ltd. will restart its Daesan, South Korea-based purified terephthalic acid (PTA) post-maintenance on September 13, 2013.
 
“The PTA plant at Daesan was shutdown for maintenance on September 3, 2013, and is likely to be restarted on the September 13,” a company official told fibre2fashion.
 
The Daesan PTA plant has a capacity to produce 700,000 mt/year.
 
The company is planning to carry out maintenance turnaround at its Ulsan-based no.2 PTA plant from around October 10, 2013, the official informed.
 
The no.2 PTA plant, which has production capacity of 450,000 mt/year, will remain shut for around ten days for maintenance.
