Federal Operations Unit (FOU) of the Nigerian Custom Services (NCS) has confiscated three containers of textile materials.
These containers worth N12.8 million were seized at Marine Beach, Lagos.
Nigerian Government has the policy to discourage importation of textile materials and if any such material is confiscated, then it is destroyed by Presidential Committee on Destruction of Textile.
Till now, N2 billion worth of textiles have been destroyed by committee.
Government policy of preventing textile materials is criticized by several businessmen and elite group, but Government wants to stick to it decision.
