Dyes & auxiliaries imports show mix trend in June

In June 2007, China's imports of all types of dyes totaled 5,773 tons, a drop of 3.15 percent from the same period last year. Import value reached US $37.36 million, up 8.79 percent.

Auxiliaries imports achieved 7,928 tons, a plunge of 7.88 percent with value amounting to $19.56 million, up 7.59 percent.

Import of all types of dyes from January to June 2007 are as follows:

Disperse dyes imports were 1604 tons worth $11.07 million, a fall of 26.15 percent and 6.89 percent.

Acid dyes imports were 6303 tons worth $45.78 million, a decline of 7.93 and 1.36 percent.

Alkaline dyes imports were 1341 tons, a drop of 20.46 percent, worth of $5.92 million, an increase of 20.57 percent.

Direct dyes imports touched 3088 tons valuing $22.72 million, a slump of 18.63 and 17.05 percent.

Reactive dyes imports reached 16,327 tons worth $86.99 million, up 7.75 and 4.10 percent.

Vat Dyes imports were 835 tons worth $10.02 million, a rise of 19.97 percent and 79.89 percent.

Sulfur dyes worth $2.05 million for 527 tons were imported, showing an increase of 88.07 and 66.77 percent respectively.

Among the total imports from January to June this year, import volume as well as value of disperse, acid and direct dyes showed a downward trend. Although import volume for Alkaline dyes declined, its value increased.

Import volume and value of sulfur and vat dyes augmented substantially. Of this, sulfur dyes imports recorded the highest growth. Reactive dyes accounted for 59.93 percent of the total import volume, up 10.86 percent and value represented 50.19 percent of the total value, up 8.96 percent over the corresponding period previous year.
