Data from China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association show that growth-rate of country's ethylene production in August continued to slow down and the monthly output fell to 84.7 million tons, up 7.5 percent on year.
This represented a rare single digit climb in recent years, which is probably the caused due to high international oil price and moderate growth of crude oil processing volume in domestic market.
However, pure benzene and fine methanol production maintained rapid growth for the month, with an increase of 36.5 and 58.1 percent, respectively, monthly output being at 374,000 tons and 907,000.
Ethylene production in China for January-August period reached 6.907 million tons, pure benzene output amounted to 2.962 million tons, fine methanol yield totaled to 6.302 million tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 14.7, 29.9 and 38.4 percent, respectively.
