Textile raw material marks strong sales in 2007

According to the market research report recently released by China's first textile Network, in 2007 country's total textile raw material consumption reached 21.2 million tons.

Of this, polyester staple fibre consumption formed 7.36 million tons, accounting for 34.72 percent and VSF consumption registered 1.25 million tons at 5.90 percent. Acrylic staple fibre consumption took 240,000 tons, accounting for 1.13 percent, where as spandex procurement marked 26,000 tons, accounted for 0.12 percent.

Excluding the consumption of chemical fiber materials, cotton consumption marked 12.32 million tons with cotton proportion in yarn spinning being 58.11 percent.
