Market price for ethylene goes up

The fast growing Chinese economy is experiencing a rise in demand for ethylene as well as for down stream products. The domestic ethylene industry is passing through a golden period at the moment.

Ethylene output in China is growing at a rapid pace. Provinces of Jiangsu, Beijing, Shangdong, Jilin and Guangdong are considered as the largest producers of ethylene.

Ethylene prices, on March 26, showed a steep rise. Prices for all the regions of Asia, Far East as well as Europe saw a boom compared to last week.

Asia region ethylene prices:

Ethylene, CFR Northeast Asia, at US $1190-1200 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CFR Southeast Asia, at US $1100-1110 per metric ton.

Far East region ethylene prices:

Ethylene, FOB Korea, at US $1200 per metric ton.
Ethylene, FOB Japan, at US $1200 per metric ton.

Europe ethylene prices:

Ethylene, FD Northwest Europe, at Euro 995.00-1000.00 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CIF Northwest Europe, at US $ 1300.00-1302.00 per metric ton.
