According to available reports, upon continuing support from raw materials of pure benzene, the price of Asian caprolactam sets a record of US $2,590 per ton. Earlier, pure benzene price had marked its highest point in history by reaching at $1,340 per ton FOB Korea; however, in recently its settlement price slightly dropped to US $1,336 per ton.
Caprolactam producers are enjoying this shift of cost pressure, and are taking advantage of this opportunity to the fullest.
As crude oil futures remain at above $130 per barrel, benzene price will continue to rise, and market experts see no signs of decline in coming days.
