Available statistics show that in the period from January to May this year, China imported 156,000 tons of naphtha, showcasing a year-on-year decrease of 75.08 percent.

However, on the other hand, exports reached 949,000 tons, depicting a year-on-year boost of 86.85 percent, representing a significant augmentation in volume for five consecutive months.

This situation has considerably impacted domestic spot markets. In July, prices are showcasing some down trend.

Asian naphtha prices drooped on Thursday. Prices quoted for first half of September were pegged at US $1,159.50-1,162.50 per ton CFR (cost and freight) Japan. While, for the second half of September, prices stood at $1,158.00-1,161.00 per ton CFR Japan. For first half of October deals were finalised at $1,156.50-1,159.50 per ton CFR Japan.
