Benzene import mounts up

According to available customs statistics, in the month of June, China imported 22,189 tons of benzene worth US $28.1159 million. The figures showcase a rise of 6.27 percent from May, representing a year-on-year gain of 86.28 percent. Average prices quoted for benzene was $1,267 per ton.

Imports from South Korea registered 16,189 tons; from Japan it was 6,000 tons.

While, the country earned around $10.309 million from exports of 8,702 tons of benzene. Average export price quoted at $1,185 per ton. Such figures represented about 203 percent rise in terms of volume over previous month; and 2.29 percent plunge from similar period last year.

Exports to South Korea recorded 5,827 tons; to Taiwan it was 2,873 tons.
