High demand fails to stabilize ethylene prices

Although demand for ethylene has gained momentum in the international market, prices are going down due to plunge in crude oil prices. Ethylene prices showed a fluctuating trend for almost all the importing countries on July 30.

Prices quoted for Asian, and US market showcased a down fall; where as for the European and Far Eastern region market indicated stability compared to the previous week.

Ethylene prices in Asia region:

Ethylene, CFR Northeast Asia, at US $1550-1560 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CFR Southeast Asia, at US $1540-1550 per metric ton.

Ethylene prices in Far East region:

Ethylene, FOB South Korea, at US $1650 per metric ton.
Ethylene, FOB Japan, at US $1650 per metric ton.

Ethylene prices in Europe:

Ethylene, FD Northwest Europe, at Euro 1215.00-1220.00 per metric ton.
Ethylene, CIF Northwest Europe, at US $1826.00-1836.00 per metric ton.

Price in the United States:

Ethylene, FAS Houston, at US cent 53.125-53.375 per pound.
