According to the Customs Statistics, raw silk exports of China reached nearly 1,376 tons last month. This showcases a considerable hike of 235 tons, or 20.60 percent, from June 2008, however, there is a drop of 11.23 percent when compared to July 2007.
Export value for raw silk increased by almost 19.61 percent when compared to June and came to approximately US $301.72 million, marking an annual plunge of 3.37 percent.
The average price of July exports was nearly $26,288 per ton, observing a slight decline of 0.82 percent from the previous month, but the nation experienced a yearly boost of 8.85 percent.
From January to July, this year, China's total raw silk exports touched around 8,610 tons, representing a growth of 8.38 percent over the same period of 2007. The cumulative export value amounted almost $2.123 billion, a year-on-year amplification of nearly 8.71 percent.
The average price of exports was approximately $24,661 per ton, observing a marginal rise of 0.30 percent when compared to first seven months of 2007.
