Recently, Government announced that it will officially implement new national standards for Chinese sewing thread industry from September 1, 2008.

These standards were drafted by Huamei Thread Company Limited together with Shanghai Textile Industry Institute of Technical Supervision.

Officials say that this step was taken to help sewing tread manufacturers to match global standards that will increase orders.

This will also upgrade the industry according to the international and internal trade situations, trends and demand levels.

Insiders reveal that unlike the old sewing thread standards, the new ones classify products into excellent, first-class, and unqualified bands.

Besides, color fastness, breaking force and elongation as well as many such technical factors of the threads will also be evaluated and judged.
