CPC Corporation, the state owned oil and petrochemical refinery, shut its Number-4 Naphtha cracker in Kaohsiung for planned maintenance. This cracker was shut after re-starting the Number-5 plant.

Fibre2fashion spoke to a senior company official who affirmed the news by saying “The Number-4 naphtha processing plant has been closed down for maintenance. Number-5 plant was restarted last week, which was a scheduled shut down normally connected with part of annual maintenance. Generally this type of shut down lasts for about 35 to 40 days.”

Earlier Number-5 plant was shut down in months of August 2008.
