Ethylene prices for CFR Northeast Asia descended for the third consecutive week from US $706-711 per metric ton to $680-690 per metric ton yesterday and ethylene prices for CFR Southeast also fell for the second week running from $696-701 per metric ton to $670-680 per metric ton, yesterday.
Ethylene prices for the Far East region, (FOB South Korea) and (FOB Japan) which had stayed stable for two weeks fell from $705 per metric ton to $685 per metric ton yesterday.
Ethylene prices in the FD Northwest European markets which had moved marginally northwards in the previous week, fell from last weeks level of €550-555 per metric ton to €525-530 per metric ton, while ethylene prices for CIF Northwest Europe which had jumped drastically in the last week once again fell back to $650-660 per metric ton from $705 per metric ton.
Prices of ethylene in the US market of Houston crashed for the fourth consecutive week. It dipped from US cent 22.13-22.38 per pound to US cent 21.630-21.880 per pound, on May 5.
