Compared to Asian markets which displayed bullish trends, benzene prices in European markets encountered a steep fall of around 4 percent on September 2.
Benzene FOB Rotterdam fell from US $814.50-815.50 per ton on Sept 1 to $779.00-780.00 per ton on Sept 2, down by $35.50 per ton.
Closing price on Sept 2 for CIF ARA and for arrivals in first half of September too faced the same trends and dropped from $804.50-805.50 per ton to $769.00-770.00 per ton.
CIF ARA for deliveries in October however fell by $40 per ton, from $799.50-800.50 per ton to $759.50-760.50 per ton.
