Propylene prices in free fall mode

Propylene prices in the Far East region have been plunging since the last two fortnights continued to do on September 16 and declined by US $35 per ton, when compared with prices prevailing on September 9.

FOB South Korea slid back from $1020-1022 recorded on September 9 to touch $985-987 per ton on September 16.

However, Propylene (polymerization level) for FD Northwest Europe and CIF Northwest Europe remained constant at levels prevailing on the previous Wednesday at €795-805 per metric ton and €785-795 per metric ton, respectively at closing hours, yesterday.

Propylene prices in the US market, too continued the trend of falling and dropped down from US cent 52.005-52.255 per lb recorded on September 9 to US cent 50.380-50.630 per lb, on September 16.
