On December 2, China's domestic Benzene market was firm, but negotiating atmosphere was light, while in the Asian markets, benzene closed US $13 per ton higher than the previous day at $909-912 per ton (FOB Korea).

The Chinese domestic market, too, followed cues of the Asian markets and rose significantly. Market price in East China ranged between $6,950-6,950 Yuan per ton, in South China, it stood at 6,850-6,900 Yuan per ton, while in North China Benzene closed at 6,850-6,900 Yuan per ton.

The surge in benzene prices is attributed to support of rise in international crude oil prices and also from overseas markets and limited market supply, with expectations of a consolidation in the short term
