Ethylene & propylene prices surge

The closing prices of ethylene on December 2 for CFR Northeast Asia stood at between US $1070-1100 per metric ton, compared to $1030-1070 per metric ton prevailing on November 25.

Correspondingly, ethylene prices of CFR Southeast Asia also rose to $1100-1150 per metric ton, yesterday against $1050-1090 per metric ton prevailing on the previous Wednesday.

In the European markets, ethylene prices for CIF Northwest Europe maintained steadiness at the same levels as the previous Wednesday at $900-920 per metric ton.

In the Far East region, propylene FOB South Korea also followed the trend set by ethylene and moved from $1050-1100 per ton on November 25 to $1100-1130 per ton on December 2.

Propylene (polymerization level), CIF Northwest Europe, prices too moved northwards from $1035-1065 per metric ton to $1075-1105 per metric ton, at closing hours yesterday.
