In the previous week (December 21 to 27), polyester filament market was weak and sales of cationic filament products also seemed to have lost steam and prices showed downward trend.
Cationic filaments, FDY 50D/24F, 63D/24F, 100D/48F were offered at 14,200 Yuan, 13,100 Yuan and 12,000 Yuan / ton, respectively, a slight decline from the previous closing prices. In addition, DTY and POY prices also fell by varying degrees.
During the week, cationic chip prices plunged by around 100 Yuan per ton and were quoted at 9,750 Yuan / ton (six months payment terms), but still did not enthuse the buyers.
Downstream demand for cationic filament is insufficient, leading to increased stock pressure of cationic filament. Market participants expect that cationic filament market will fluctuate amid weakening trend.
