MMF yarn imports decline in January

China's imports of synthetic yarn reached 40,282 tons in January 2010, a decline of 13.13 percent from the previous month, but an increase of 48.3 percent compared with same period last year.

The import amount touched US $134.493 million, down $15.83 million or 10.53 percent from the previous month, but up 79.0 percent compared with same period last year.

China's total import volume of synthetic fiber yarn reached 513,589 tons in 2009, down 1.08 percent, when compared 2008 and the total imports amounted to $1.568 billion, down 3.97 percent year on year.
