Japan's ethylene production rose 27.6 percent year on year in February. It was also an increase for seven consecutive months, mainly due to strong demand growth from China,

But with naphtha cracker plants in Japan entering the maintenance season, Japan's ethylene production is expected to gradually decline in the next few months.

Japan's ethylene output reached 593,200 tons in February compared with 465,000 tons in the same month of the previous year.

Japan's ethylene exports in January increased 16 percent year on year to 236,400 tons. Export figures of February are not yet available.
