Acrylonitrile price dropped by RMB 300 / ton and new prices assessed around RMB 20,100 / ton while upstream product prices remained stable. Acrylic fibre production in Europe and Turkey remains substantially weakened due to shortage of Acrylonitrile.
In Chinese market acrylic staple fiber (ASF) prices remain unchanged at around RMB 22800 / ton. Speculators are waiting for a turning point in ASF prices in parallel with Acrylonitrile prices and hence they are avoiding trading. Global demand for acrylic staple fibre has also weakened due to its high prices since long time.
