Upstream raw materials of Paraxylene hovered at high level, supported by higher prices in S E Asian market. PX jumped to US $880-885 / ton and in Korean markets, PX traded in the range of $865-870 / ton.
PTA trends remained bullish, as the upstream of PTA climbed up; PTA imported from Korea maintained price around US$ 830/ton. PTA in S E Asia hovered around $855/ton, up $7 / ton. In short term outlook, speculators expected price to decline.
In S E Asia, ethylene price rose to in the range of $796-800 / ton. In European domestic market, price increased to €935 / ton and in US market; price was steady at 32.6 cents / pound.
In MEG prices, increased in tandem with allied polyester raw materials. In S E Asia, MEG traded around $710 / ton, while sellers kept their offer as high as $715 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, price was RMB 6150 / ton, while it was traded around RMB 6100/ton.
