Paraxylene price improved, in tandem with firm upstream. Price was assessed between US $900-910 /ton in S E Asian market. In Korean market, closing prices stood at $890-895 / ton. Offers for September delivery were well above $900 / ton in the Asian markets.
PTA price increased with the help of firm demand. PTA produced in Taiwan, found sporadic inquiry around $900 / ton and even a few deals were confirmed around $880 / ton, while cargoes imported Korea were offered around $870-875 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, PTA was quoted at RMB 7300 / ton.
Ethylene prices grew at slow and steady pace. Offers for ethylene in the S E Asian market were made at $890 / ton while trading price was around $880 / ton. In USA market, offers for ethylene stood at around 34.125 cents / pound, while in European market, price remained unchanged in the $1010-1020 / ton.
MEG price bounced back. MEG to be delivered in September was offered around $790 / ton, counter offer from buyer was around $780 / ton, while the traded price was in between $785-788 / ton.
