Paraxylene sellers pegged price between US $930-935 / ton in S E Asian market, but could not realize beyond $930 / ton. In Korean market, closing prices increased to $915 / ton. Offers for September delivery in Taiwanese market was around $925 / ton while in Korean market, it was around $912 / ton.
Asian PTA spot market too went up. PTA produced in Taiwan was offered at $900 / ton, however, the main discussion centered on $890-895 / ton. Sellers offered at $890 / ton, but buying inquiry was around $885 / ton. Offers for the PTA in S E Asian market stood at $890 / ton but was traded around $883-885 / ton.
Ethylene market turned highly active after price spurt in US market. In Asia, ethylene price surged to $897 / ton while in the European market, price was in the range of $1010-1020 / ton.
MEG sellers were facing great resistance at price level of $800 / ton. Today MEG market witnessed a flat sentiment, offer price was around $800 / ton but trading was concluded in the range of $790-795 / ton.
