Price of Paraxylene continued to surge with the support of high downstream demand in the market. In S E Asia and F E Asia, PX was assessed at around US $985 / ton and $975 / ton respectively, whereas in European market, PX jumped high by around $60-70 and was traded in the range of $960-970 / ton.
Asian PTA market remained unwavering. In F E Asian market, PTA price was quoted in between $900-905 / ton and in S E Asian market it was offered in the range of $895-900 / ton. Similarly in Chinese domestic market, PTA price stayed unchanged at RMB 7400 / ton.
In S E Asia ethylene market dropped down immensely and lingered in the between $940-945 / ton, while in Korean and Japanese market, it was firm at $975 / ton. In European market also, ethylene price rolled back by around $25 / ton and stood in range of $1120-1125/ton.
Sharp fall in upstream price did not affect MEG price, due to which no change noticed in Asian MEG offers. In S E Asia, MEG changed hands in the price level $810 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, MEG was quoted at around RMB 6450 / ton.
