Paraxylene increased in tandem with firm market sentiment in S E Asian market. PX price increased to US $990-995 / ton, whereas, in Korean markets, PX price stood at $980 / ton.
PTA prices too rose, following firming up of demand in downstream sector in S E Asian markets. Price was quoted in the range of $900-905 / ton for imported cargoes. Trading atmosphere was light, and sellers tended to conclude trading in the range of $895-900 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, price of PTA was in the range of RMB 7450-7500 / ton.
Ethylene price was unchanged and was assessed in the range of $980-985 / ton. In European market, price of Ethylene too was stable at $1015-1020 / ton and in US market; price was assessed around 32.5 cents / pound.
MEG prices revived with help from a bullish upstream. MEG offers increased to in the range of $795-800 / ton in the S E Asian market. Counter offer for MEG was still around $795 / ton but sellers were firm with offers above $805 / ton.
