Paraxylene prices spurted up higher, as upstream market remained strong. Booking for mid-October delivery too has started. In S E Asian market, PX was assessed at around US $995-1005 / ton. Price of PX imported from Korea, was in the range of $990-1000 / ton.
PTA price increased to between $903-910 / ton. Thailand manufacturers insisted on limited cargo quoted at $930-940 / ton (CFR India), whereas, counter offers were in the range of $920-930 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, price of PTA was in the range of RMB 7500-7550 / ton.
Ethylene price gained marginally today and price was assessed in the range of $990-995 / ton. In European market, price of ethylene increased and was quoted at $1020-1025 / ton and in European domestic market; price was in the range of €900-905 / ton. In US market, price was in the range of 32.5-33 cents / pound.
MEG market remained unchanged at level of $800 / ton in the S E Asian market due to firm upstream. Buying offers for MEG were still around $795 / ton, but sellers were firm with offers above $805 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, MEG was available in the range of RMB 6500-6550 / ton.
Prices of FGPET Chip rose to $1150-1160 / ton, which however was concluded in the range of $1145 / ton.
