Paraxylene price remained firm due to strong upstream market. In S E Asian market, price increased sharply by US $10 / ton and bounced back in the range of $1065-1070 / ton.
PTA price was range bound due to unclear future directions. In S E Asian market, price of PTA was in the range of $950-955 / ton.
Ethylene trends increased marginally today and were assessed around $1050 / ton in S E Asian market. Offer in Chinese market like Shanghai and Guangdong was still around RMB 7500 / ton.
MEG price unchanged at $860 / ton in S E Asian market. Optimistic sellers quoted offers at level of $865 / ton but could not find price acceptance.
Polyester intermediate prices are expected to rise further after the National Day holidays in China, under strong demand from the fiber and filament makers.
