Paraxylene prices remained range bound as market fundamentals are quite unbalanced. In Chinese spot market, price declined by US $25 to $1225 / ton. PX imported from the Korean market fell by $15 to stand at $1210-1215 / ton.
PTA continued to decline as buying momentum diminished. PTA offers hovered around $1050 / ton but trading concluded mainly in the range of $1030-1040 / ton in S E Asia. In Korean region, it was assessed in the range of $1030-1035 / ton. Actual buyers were still absent in market.
Ethylene price declined by $5 to $1080 / ton and in S E Asian market, price was recorded around $1077 / ton. In Japanese market, ethylene was quoted in the range of $1120-1125 / ton. In European market, ethylene price hovered around $1115 / ton and in European domestic market it declined to €912 / ton.
MEG price was down by $10 to $955 / ton. In S E Asian market, price was quoted in the range of $950-955 / ton. Buyers still tried to pull down price in the range of $950 / ton. In Chinese domestic market, price of MEG was in the range of RMB 7650-7750 / ton.
