Russia, as part of a state program, plans to increase ethylene capacity over five-fold by 2030.

The country intends to set up 10 ethylene production plants of one million tons each, which will be added to the existing capacity of 2.3 million tons.

These new plants are expected to reduce the severe shortages of ethylene faced by Russia.

The current per capita ethylene production capacity in Russia is three times lower, when compared with Western Europe.
