According to Fibre2Fashion's market insight tool TexPro, spandex prices have seen a gradual decline over the last six months. Recently, the price dropped to $5 per kg from $5.10 per kg at the beginning of this month. In the Chinese domestic market, prices were recently noted at $4.17 per kg, down 11.27 per cent from $4.70 per kg in the second half of December 2023.
The FOB and domestic prices of 30D spandex were recorded at $4.45 per kg and $4.04 per kg, respectively, last week. Six months ago, these prices were $4.59 per kg and $4.87 per kg, respectively.
Spandex (40D) was sold at $4.25 per kg at Chinese ports (FOB) and $3.69 per kg in the Chinese domestic market in the last 6 months. Additionally, the 70D and 140D varieties were traded at $3.62 per kg and $3.56 per kg, respectively, during the same time in the domestic market, as per TexPro.
