Leading manufacturer of fashion-forward bags for the promotional goods and retail markets, Goodhope Bags has chosen Eleksen Ltd, a top developer and manufacturer of smart fabric touchpad solutions for an extensive range of consumer electronics softgoods, to enable its innovative G-Tech line of bags and backpacks.
G-Tech merges revolutionary technology with fierce, functional design, creating a unique range of bags to keep consumers 'connected.'
Utilizing ElekTex smart fabric controls, the bags allow users to place a phone or Apple iPod or MP3 player inside, and control the mobile devices from the strap or flap of the bag.
'They at Goodhope realized the potential of the wearable technology market and decided it was time to merge tech with their fashionable backpacks, briefcases and bags,' said Mark Treger, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Goodhope Bags.
'After meeting with Eleksen and seeing the potential of its ElekTex offering, they knew they had to work with them.
They have helped them create an easily accessible interface between wearers and their iPods, MP3 players and cell phones.
They are delighted about the integration.'
ElekTex is a unique five-layer laminate of electrically conductive materials that transforms fabric into an electronic touchpad.
The technology replaces the hard touch pads, flexi-circuits and polymer switches which have limited the growth of the wearable electronics market.
