Leading provider of enterprise software solutions, GERS Retail Systems announced that Steve & Barry's University Sportswear, a leading national specialty retailer offering licensed and non-licensed apparel for men, women and children, has chosen GERS' Merchandising and Inventory solutions to improve operations throughout the retailer's growing enterprise.

The ability to seamlessly integrate these solutions into their existing manufacturing and POS systems was a key factor in choice of GERS.

The retailer has also purchased GERS' Planning and Analytics solutions to drive faster decisions and better business performance.

Named by Forbes as one of their "50 Hottest Retailers, and by the International Council of Shopping Centers as the "Hot Retailer for 2005" along with Coach, Williams-Sonoma, White House/Black Market and Apple Stores, Steve & Barry's faces unique challenges as both an apparel retailer and a manufacturer.

"Because their current retail and manufacturing systems can't really talk to one another, they can't manage the intricacies of receiving and allocating manufactured, embellished, and finished goods from multiple sources," said Andy Dicker, CEO of Steve & Barry's University Sportswear.

"Integrating the GERS solutions will automate most of the manual processes they now perform, streamline their operations, and provide a flexible, scalable platform that will support their intent to transform Steve & Barry's into thelargest apparel retailer in the USA."
