Lectra, preferred partner of Chinese fashion companies
The abolition of textile quotas on January 1, 2005 brought profound changes. After an initial "wait-and-see" phase, China saw its activity expand significantly; the country is now experiencing an explosion in its domestic market, and at the same time its companies are increasingly developing their own brands with a view to exporting them. Industry experts predict that by 2010, more than half of the world's new garments will be produced in China.

Lectra's renowned expertise in the apparel industry persuaded the China National Institute of Standardization (CNIS) to choose the company's technologies to conduct the official measuring campaign for the Chinese population, which began in February 2006.

High level meeting between French and Chinese apparel professionals:
Lectra partnered with the Fédération Française de la Couture ready- to-wear and fashion creators to present the first official French- Chinese meeting of leading Chinese professionals and French ready- to-wear brands, organized in Beijing from March 29 to April 5 in collaboration with the Federation of Chinese Industry.
