NanoHorizons Inc, a leader in delivering real-world nanoscale material solutions announced that Turtle Fur will use SmartSilver anti-odor technology in new winter gear lines. SmartSilver will initially be used for a variety of hats, neck gators and some balaklavas, to be released to retailers in 2007.
"We combine high-performance functionality with exciting fashion statements," said Annemarie Furey, CEO of Design and Engineering, Turtle Fur. "There's no point having a snappy hat if it doesn't perform to the highest standards. SmartSilver was the right choice for anti-odor technology because we want our customers, such as extreme skiers, to know they can depend on permanent anti-odor properties just as they depend on top-of-the line warmth and comfort."
"Turtle Fur is one of the most well-known and respected brands of winter clothing, with demanding customers who care as much about function as they do about fashion" said Robert Burlinson, CEO, NanoHorizons.
"With SmartSilver, they will now have the comfort and warmth they've come to expect from Turtle Fur with the added bonus of permanent, effective odor protection. A hunter, snowboarder or skier who puts a hat or balaklava on after stopping for lunch or spending the night in the back-country can be sure of a pleasant experience."
The Turtle Fur Group's brands include Turtle Fur, FU-R, Turtle Fur Kids, Nordic Gear Sport, Fog Free and Leetra, all of which offer apparel for cold-weather sports and recreation. Turtle Fur has earned a reputation for combining function and fashion and satisfying the high requirements of extreme athletes and dedicated sportsmen in all manner of outdoor activities, from snowboarding to hunting.
