Comfortable and durable jeans maker Lee Jeans recently launched a site Lee1889.com, promoting its junior jeans market brand and its first one dedicated to selling directly to the consumer.

To take on the task of creating a scalable, integrated, and shopper-friendly e-commerce solution, it turned to StoreFront, maker of one of the industry's leading shopping cart software solutions.

Lee was looking for a solution that could fully integrate into their legacy systems. This meant the shopping cart platform had to be flexible, while still delivering features that would make the shopping experience ideal for its customers.

To meet this challenge, StoreFront customized an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) system to enable data from its e-commerce solution to be exchanged with Lee's legacy ERP system. The integration allows Lee to process orders, create shipping notices and update its inventory, all from one administrative interface.

The challenge did not end there. The solution also had to be scalable, as Lee wanted to utilize the same capabilities for future online stores targeted at specific market segments.

StoreFront created an managerial module from which Lee can manage its entire online inventory through one single interface. The individually branded stores share a common inventory and customer system, enabling Lee to capitalize on the product line's brand during the shopping process, while maintaining cross-store checkout and account management support.
