JDA Software Group Inc announced that Phillips-Van Heusen, the world's largest shirt company, has dramatically increased its in-stock position and significantly improved sales markdowns using JDA Portfolio applications. By implementing Advanced Allocation by Arthur and Performance Analysis by Arthur the company has strengthened its processes and boosted productivity and efficiency for its staff.

The 125-year-old retailer first implemented JDA's Advanced Planning by Arthur application several years ago. In 2005 the retailer implemented additional JDA applications to sharpen operations across all five divisions.

“We've definitely realized a positive impact from JDA solutions,” said Jim Buehler, vice president of planning and allocation for the Van Heusen division of Phillips-Van Heusen. “By using Arthur applications we've been able to increase our in-stock rate from the low 90-percent range – which was about the best we could do in the past – to closer to 97 percent today with no significant increase in inventory whatsoever. In some cases,” Buehler added, “we've even reduced inventory and had a better in-stock position on the basics.”

“We are proud to strengthen our long and successful partnership with Phillips-Van Heusen by continuing to provide them with the necessary tools to realize true demand-chain efficiencies,” said Wayne Usie, senior vice president, retail, JDA Software. “By utilizing robust and user-friendly functionality from JDA solutions, Philips-Van Heusen can continue to enjoy competitive advantage in today's challenging apparel industry.”
