Quebec's textile industry invests nearly $400,000 for R&D

Created in 2001, the Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la nature et les technologies is a public agency that reports to the Minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade. Its mission is to promote and provide financial assistance for researcher training and research work and to disseminate knowledge in the field of the natural sciences, engineering and mathematics.
The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada is a federal agency tasked to make investments in people, discovery and innovation for the benefit of all Canadians. It supports some 22,000 university students and postdoctoral fellows, promotes discovery by funding more than 10,000 university professors every year, and furthers innovation by encouraging over 800 Canadian companies to invest and participate in university research projects. Over the past ten years, NSERC has invested over $ 6 billion in fundamental research, joint university-industry projects and the training of Canada's next generation of scientists and engineers.
