Eurostop, supplier of retail management systems, has opened its first international office in Singapore, in the TechQuest Business Park. The company, which specialises in systems for retailers in the fashion, footwear and general merchandise sectors, has appointed Carren Yong as sales manager to head up the operation.
As well as generating new business the office will provide technical and product support to customers in the region. Before joining Eurostop, Ms Yong was with Wincor Nixdorf where she evaluated the Eurostop system for several customers.
In preparation for entry into the new market modifications have been made to the Eurostop systems to suit Singapore retailers. For example, the system allows for the fact that the smallest currency denomination is 5 cents, and deals with discounts by rounding up or down accordingly. The system can also deal with Singapore's Global Sales Tax (GST), the rate of which can be changed easily to meet the prevailing rates.
On joining Eurostop Ms Yong commented, “The Eurostop system addresses the middle market in Singapore. The system is smaller and more manageable than those systems offered by the major ERP suppliers, and yet more robust and full featured than systems offered by local software houses."
"Eurostop provides all the functionality that retailers need, and many features that we believe will become more important in the near future, for instance, returns, credit notes and serialised gift vouchers.”
