TAGSYS, the global leader in item-level RFID infrastructure announced Levi Strauss & Co. will deploy TAGSYS' UHF readers in retail outlets in Mexico. Grupo Hasar, system integrator for the project and TAGSYS partner, is performing the software integration into the back-end system and deploying the overall solution.

The TAGSYS/Grupo Hasar deployment represents an expansion of Levi Strauss' RFID strategy to improve the customer purchasing experience by expediting the checkout process (especially during peak seasons) and to improve inventory management.

For this application, Levi Strauss required a unique, cost-effective solution that offered high performance, reliability, an ergonomic design and easy integration capabilities. The TAGSYS reader combines leading UHF reader technology with a unique embedded antenna design that reliably inventories multiple stacked garments while not erroneously reading nearby items (a critical requirement in point-of-sale applications). The TAGSYS readers will be deployed in 40 Levi Strauss stores throughout Mexico.

“We are very pleased to be working with TAGSYS for our latest RFID deployment,” said Abel Garcia, Director IT México of Levi Strauss. “We appreciate the innovation behind each of TAGSYS' solutions, which inevitably will help to enhance the effectiveness of our RFID implementation.”

“TAGSYS provided the comprehensive pre- and post-deployment support that is critical to the success of any RFID deployment,” said Gastón Eric Schmeling Renaud, México & Central America General Manager of Grupo Hasar. “We are happy to have found a supplier on whom we can rely to provide the innovative products and superior service we require to guarantee successful implementations for our customers.”
