Innovation will stand for competitive footwear production- SATRA

The conference closed with a question and answer session with a panel made up of speakers and members of the SATRA research team. A conclusion reached by both panel and delegates was that the industry probably isn't currently investing enough in research and innovation to turn challenge into opportunity. SATRA's research team leader, John Hubbard said 'Investment in innovation will provide the future products that future markets will demand.' There was a consensus that whole supply chain has collective responsibility for consumer needs and future generations.
From feedback gathered on the day, it is clear that all who attended found the event and the subjects discussed useful, even essential. Members see SATRA as being central to the debate and will look to the technology centre to play an important part in helping the industry with some of the challenges and opportunities.
