The Rexam solution for Natura began in France with several initial concepts culminating, through collaboration with the Natura product development team, in the final design of a sleek, modern-looking package featuring a screw plug on the bottom of the bottle for refilling the original retail product.
The bottom is sonic welded to the container bottle, while the Rexam actuator and TNP pump mechanisms fit perfectly flush within the oval outline of the bottle's crown. This unitary look gives the entire dark green package a smooth, elegant appearance. The 100-ml bottle is injection molded and made of polypropylene material. The Natura logo is silk screened on the container's surface. Future Natura deodorants will feature the same container but come with different packaging colors and decorations.
In addition to the Natura package design contribution from Rexam engineers in France,
Rexam's TNP pump technology was brought from its Thomaston, Conn., plant in the U.S. to the new Rexam production facility in Brazil where a European and American team supported its introduction. With new customized tooling and machinery installed to produce the package, this brand new Rexam South American operation thus became the first manufacturing enterprise of its kind in the region.
Romain Lemeunier, Commerical Director-Latin America at Rexam Dispensing Systems informed that a very complete expertise in dispensing, injection, decoration and assembly was required on this special project. With Natura collaboration and partnership, they brought together French engineering, an American pump technology, and new Brazilian production facilities to create a complete solution: an aesthetic design, environmentally friendly, efficient and cost effective production.
