To reduce bureaucracy and corruption in import and export of goods, a single customs form will be introduced next month by Cambodian Government, local media reported on Wednesday.
The single administrative document is scheduled to be completed by March 2006, informed Finance Minister Keat Chhon.
Officials along with World Bank consultants in Phnom Penh scrutinized the form at a meeting on Tuesday.
The form will be part of computerized Single Window Customs System, which is planned to be tested by Government by December, officials said.
The system will be integrated with Internet and submission of the single form will be done through a server shared by various ministries and agencies involved in trade, by any trader.
The UN is helping with its development.
Garment Manufacturers Association of Cambodia (GMAC) Secretary-General Ken Loo said he hoped Government will enter into contract with the UN to develop the computerized system and it will be tested by October.
