India's textile & apparel exports decline 8.8% to $16.7 bn in H1 2023

According to an analysis by confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) based on trade date from the ministry of commerce and industry, textile exports slipped *.** per cent to $*,***.** million in April-September **** from $**,***.** million of the same period of last fiscal. Total shipment of textile and apparel was *.** per cent of India’s total merchandise exports of $***.*** billion in April-September ****. Out of textile, the shipment of cotton yarn, fabric, made-ups, handloom products etc valued at $*,***.** million which was *.** per cent higher than last year’s shipment of $*,***.** million. The exports of man-made yarn, fabric, made ups etc fell *.** per cent to $*,***.** million from $*,***.** million of April-September ****.
