US' textiles & apparel exports down 5.2% to $15.8 bn in Jan-Aug 2023

Among the top ten markets, textiles, and apparel shipments from the US to the Netherlands rose by **.** per cent to $***.*** million, and to Belgium/Luxembourg they increased by **.** per cent to $***.*** million in the first eight months of ****. Exports to the United Kingdom also grew by *.** per cent. In contrast, shipments to the Dominican Republic, Canada, China, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras, and Japan declined by up to **.** per cent. During this period, the US supplied textiles and apparel worth $*,***.*** million to Mexico, followed by $*,***.*** million to Canada and $***.*** million to Honduras. 

Category-wise, apparel exports saw a marginal increase of *.** per cent year-on-year to $*,***.*** million. Fabric exports fell by *.** per cent to $*,***.*** million between January and August this year. Exports of yarn, made-up articles, and miscellaneous items also saw reductions, decreasing by *.** per cent to $*,***.*** million and *.** per cent to $*,***.*** million, respectively.
