US' textiles & apparel imports rise 9.3% to $26 bn in Jan-Mar 2025

During January–March ****, apparel imports—which constitute the majority of the US’ textile imports—increased by **.** per cent to $**.*** billion, up from $**.*** billion in the same period of ****. Non-apparel imports also rose, by *.** per cent, to $*.*** billion, according to the US Department of Commerce’s Major Shippers Report.

US apparel imports from India surged by **.** per cent, while those from Bangladesh rose by **.** per cent. Apparel imports from China also increased, by *.** per cent; from Vietnam, by **.** per cent; Jordan, **.** per cent; Indonesia, **.** per cent; Cambodia, **.** per cent; Mexico, *.** per cent; and Pakistan, **.** per cent—among the top ** suppliers. Imports from Italy declined by *.** per cent during the period under review.
