Pratibha Syntex Director's expectations from Budget 2007-8

Pratibha Syntex Director Snehakar Bansal speaks about his views and hopes from the Union Budget 2007-8:

My expectations from the Budget are:

1) The excise duty on polyester fibre, which is at present 8% should be reduced by maximum 4%.

2) Excise duty on cotton yarn, which is at present 4% should be abolished totally.

3) Personal Income Tax exemption limit should be increased from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs.2 lakhs.

4) Duty draw back norms should remain same and should not be changed.

5) TUFF Scheme should be extended to minimum 2 more years.

6) Import duty on cotton should be reduced from 10% to 0%.
