The second British Wool Sale of the 2011/12 Season was held by the British Wool Marketing Board at Wool House and offered 1,408,571 kilos.

A strong sale with keen bidding and prices advancing produced a clearance of 98%.

Compared to the last time sold:

• Pick and Supers up to 2.5% dearer
• Halfbreds 2 - 4.5% dearer
• Crosses 4 - 6% dearer
• Radnors 3 - 4% dearer
• Welsh 3 - 4.5% dearer

A farmer run organisation, the BWMB was established in 1950 to operate a central marketing system for UK fleece wool, with the aim of achieving the best possible net return for producers.
